I am a native Texan, born and raised in Dallas. Growing up in Texas taught me how to enjoy what’s important in life – good barbecue and Tex-Mex. I have some recommendations in Houston but am open to hear about any new places in town!
I left Texas to study economics at Purdue University and graduated in 2010 with honors. At Purdue, I participated in AIESEC and regularly played in all intramural sports. Also, I attended Bejing Jiaotong University for a semester on an expenses-paid scholarship to study Chinese. Studying abroad was not only educational, but also incredibly fun and showed me how important it is to me to travel.
After college, I attended Baylor Law School in Waco, Texas and graduated in February 2014. In law school, I competed in the National Health Care Law Moot Court competition and successfully made break out of 30 teams across the country. I also competed on the Transactional Law Meet team. Both of these competitions sharpened my advocacy skills I continue to use in my practice. During my first summer of law school, I interned with the Honorable Judge McFarland in the 133rd District Court in Houston, and the internship taught me insights relating to the courtroom I rely on still.
Before joining Walters Gilbreath, PLLC, I worked at a defense litigation firm in Houston on cases involving serious personal injuries.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling abroad to hike and camp, including the Inca Trail in Peru and Patagonia in Argentina. I also had the chance to work on an alpaca farm in New Zealand for six weeks after I took the Texas bar exam, which was a unique way to experience a new culture. I have also been to South Africa, Germany, many Asian countries, and continually look forward to adding more stamps to my passport. Locally, I also appreciate what Houston offers, such as its famous restaurant scene. In order to be more involved in the local community, I recently began volunteering at the Houston Zoo. There is a good chance you will see me on the weekends volunteering at the petting zoo, giraffe feeding, and other activities the zoo has to offer!
